Art & Culture

in the Valley of the Loreley

Amazement allowed!

The Rhine Valley proves once again that it is one of the most important cultural regions in Europe. A rich heritage of art and culture characterises the valley of the Loreley.

Great politics were written here and many influences of art history have left their traces right here. From mystical Romanesque to filigree Gothic, jubilant Baroque and the rapturous spirit of the 19th century, the arch stretches across the valley. Even the modern age has left some traces here that are worth seeing.

The museum landscape is very colourful and diverse, the "variety of types" of museums is great, mostly overlapping themes, occasionally specialised in one field. Almost all collections are housed in exemplary restored historical buildings.
