From 4 July to 17 August, part of the historic market square will be transformed into the Strünzer Strand by the City of Linz's building yard. The sandy beach will evoke a beach and holiday feeling - all against the beautiful backdrop of Linz's old town. The recreation area is complemented by plenty of sand, numerous deckchairs and parasols as well as palm trees. There is also a treasure chest with sand toys for the youngest visitors. Of course, all visitors can prove their skills in building sandcastles! Strünzer Strand is intended to be a meeting place for all generations. It will be catered for by the caterers based at the market. ‘Summer feeling in the city’ guaranteed. In addition to the Linz building yard, the tourist information centre and the Linz advertising association also actively helped with the planning of this unique event in the region. Sustainability was also taken into account when designing the Strünzer Strand. For example, the sand will be used for levelling the flower beds in the city area once it has been removed.
