City tour of historic Oberwesel

"Oberwesel is one of the Rhine towns that has suffered the most from wars. The old town wall is riddled with impacts of cannons and rifle bullets. But today Oberwesel resembles an old soldier who became a vintner. Its red wine, however, is excellent." Noted Victor Hugo on his Rhine journey in 1838. During a guided tour through the protected part of Oberwesel, knowledgeable guides bring the legends and events back to life and also explain the history of the historic town. Every Saturday, duration approx. 1.5 hours. Participation is free of charge!
