When a pre-Christmas magic sweeps through the streets, the scent of Uhles and mulled wine fills the air in Linz, and the historic houses and alleys glow romantically, the Christmas season has finally arrived in Linz. For then, the "Colorful City on the Rhine" transforms into a cozy Christmas village, from the Rheintor to the Neutor.

Cozy lounge areas in modern pagoda tents in the marketplace invite visitors to enjoy weather-independent stays and fragrant winemaker's mulled wine. A colorful children's program, diverse gastronomy offerings, and changing live music on weekends complete the offerings. 

Christmas village in the marketplace: Friday 2 – 8 p.m., Saturday & Sunday 12 - 8 p.m.
Retail: daily until 6 p.m.

In organizing the Linz Christmas magic, the city of Linz and the Linz advertising community place special emphasis on sustainability and regionality. There is a conscious avoidance of commercial goods. The local, regional, and partly private exhibitors offer, for example, traditional and partly unique handicrafts, homemade delicacies, or lovingly designed gift ideas.

The furniture, decorations, and signs were made from natural materials and mostly recycled wood.

Handcrafted, lovingly decorated wooden cladding transforms the often owner-operated shops and pagoda tents in the marketplace into small, sweet Christmas market stalls.
