On the first weekend of Advent, the historic Christmas market in Oberwesel once again invites visitors to browse and enjoy. Saturday extended opening hours of the shops in the city centre. The Christmas market will take place on Saturday 30th november and Sunday 1st December 2024 on the historic market square and in the Rathausstraße. The town mayor is already looking forward to his appointment with the Oberwesel kindergarten children to decorate the tree. Christmas-wrapped "presents" find their place decorating the large Christmas tree in front of the town hall. The children will be rewarded for their wrapping with sweets and chocolates by the mayor himself. On both days, selected traders offer high-quality arts and crafts, handicrafts, homemade jewellery and much more. Children's carousel, horse-drawn carriage and a children's programme are especially designed to delight the little visitors. Admission is free.
