A church has existed on the Apollinarisberg for 1000 years, the monastery for a good 900 years and St. Apollinaris has been worshipped at this site for more than 700 years.
The Apollinaris church, one of the most important buildings in our region, is to be brought closer to those interested in all its beauty and splendour. For example, the 69 frescoes by the Nazarenes with a total of 580 figures can be seen!
The aim of the tour is not to list historical facts and dates, but to convey a deeper impression, coupled with knowledge about this special place.
The guided tour can only give a small insight into the diverse topics of architecture, religion and art of this church.
We will visit the church including the crypt and, of course, the garden with its magnificent view over the Rhine valley.
