Over 500 animals can be seen at the ostrich farm "Gemarkenhof" in Remagen. The ostriches live comfortably on the pasture without worrying about the small and large visitors. The Gemarkenhof has been breeding ostriches for many years. They live in a species-appropriate environment on an area of about 250,000 square metres.

During a guided tour of the Gemarkenhof, visitors learn more about the behaviour of the ostriches. During the 1.5-hour tour, they discover the farm by foot. Weatherproof clothing is recommended. A sample of the ostrich meat is included.

The tour with a small train is especially popular with younger children and older adults. Every now and then the little train stops so that you can see the ostriches up close. Families can also try some ostrich meat on this tour.

The ostrich farm has a farm shop where the families can buy delicious goods. In the adjoining restaurant, they fortify themselves with cakes and drinks.

The ostrich farm also organises interesting events for families. Besides the visit of Father Christmas, there is also the Easter Bunny event in spring.

Meanwhile, it has also become a popular destination for group outings.
