Hans Schmidt: *1923 in Leipzig, 1947-51 attended the Leipzig College of Graphic and Book Design. 1951-63 Typographer at Eggelbrecht-Presse in Mainz, also teaching typography and typeface at the Landeskunstschule Mainz. 1963-83 first lecturer, then professor for book design, typography and type at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach. Since 1984 freelance in Badenhard (Hunsrück).
