The monument on Deichweg commemorates the car racing driver Rudolf Caracciola (1901-1959), who came from Remagen.
The memorial was erected to commemorate the 100th birthday of the racing driver Rudolf Caracciola, who was born in Remagen in 1901. His legendary victories with his racing car „Silberpfeil” are closely linked to the „green hell”, the Nürburgring in the Eifel. His family were owners of the well known „Hotel Fürstenberg”.
