Römische Villa
Jungenstraße, 56218 Mülheim-Kärlich
In 1983, the masonry remains of the residential building of a Roman estate, a villa rustica, were discovered during pumice extraction on Jungenstraße in the Depot district. The masonry, which has been preserved up to a height of 80 cm, has been restored so that visitors can get a vivid idea of the 40 x 27 m building. Here, he will get to know an ancient floor and wall heating system as well as an original bathing basin from the 3rd century AD or, even after a strenuous day of shopping in the nearby industrial park, he can linger a little in the restored complex and "catch some air" on the green slope of the Bubenheimer Berg.
