The new statue has been standing on the Lorelei Rock since April 15, 2023, in the cultural and landscape park. You can reach the rocky summit and the approximately 2.20 meters tall bronze sculpture via the radiant path. The statue's long hair flows into a river, where boats capsize in the waves. Fine details and elaborations can also be discovered at the base of the sculpture. The myth of Lorelei becomes tangible in many stories for young and old alike with this new high-quality bronze figure.
The statue won a clear majority in a vote among the citizens of the Verbandsgemeinde Loreley. The Lorelei sculpture was created by the Berlin sculptor and artist Valerie Otte.
