Hotel-Restaurant Weiler
Marktplatz 4, 55430 Oberwesel
If walls could talk, the ancient walls of the Hotel Weiler could fill entire books!
The half-timbered house, built in 1552, could not only recount the life stories of the last six generations of the Weiler family but also share countless precious moments from the lives of so many people who were able to call the Weinhaus Weiler a home (for a time).
After serving as a residence for over 350 years, it was destined for greater things: Transferred to the Weiler family in 1889, it was first licensed in 1905 and used as a wine tavern, distillery, cooperage, and wine trade. The cornerstone of its current function as a hotel was laid in 1935 by Jakob Weiler, who installed the first seven guest rooms.
In the 1980s, the character of the Weinhaus Weiler was significantly shaped by Trudel and Klaus Weiler, who took over the operation in 1987 and consistently and lovingly restored and modernized it until October 2019, giving it its unique and romantic touch.
On the second floor, three new guest rooms have been newly furnished, which are now equipped with air conditioning.
Since 2020, the operation has been merged with the Hotel Römerkrug, which further expanded to include the additional five guest rooms at Marktplatz 1. The hotel is currently run by a young and international team from Oberwesel.
The deep and sincere connection to the region, the romantic Middle Rhine Valley, runs like a common thread through the house and concept: It is expressed in the close networking and collaboration with the hotel and gastronomy businesses on both sides of the Rhine and, last but not least, in the strong commitment to the UNESCO World Heritage "Upper Middle Rhine Valley" in the Loreley Valley.
