Evangelical Village Church (formerly St. Johann d.T.)

A church is mentioned in Lierschied as early as 879. The current church tower dates back to around the 13th century and is already recognizable as a defensive tower from the outside.

It is reported that the nave was so dilapidated in 1778 that no services could be held in it anymore. The new construction began in 1779.
