Modern and contemporary art in unique architecture

Located in Remagen in the northern Rhineland-Palatinate, the Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck has become an outstanding attraction for national and international cultural tourists since the opening of its elegant white new building by star architect Richard Meier in 2007, in combination with the historic 19th-century station building and the spectacular scenic location. Top-class visual arts in unique architecture and a beautiful cultural landscape come together here to create a special experience.
Attractive exhibitions featuring renowned contemporary artists, important sculptures, paintings and graphic works by one of the most influential artist couples of modernism, Hans Arp and Sophie Taeuber-Arp, as well as their contemporaries, and presentations of masterpieces from the Rau Collection for UNICEF that attract a broad public have contributed to the Arp Museum becoming the cultural centre of excellence envisioned by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
The museum's historic ballroom is home to the bistro and restaurant Interieur No. 253, whose equisite menu invites visitors to indulge themselves at the highest level in a unique ambience, and from whose terrace visitors can enjoy a unique view of the beautiful Rhine valley.
As an extension of the museum into the landscape, the museum has been developing a sculpture bank along the romantic Rhine together with the town of Remagen since 2001. So far, 15 room-sized sculptures by Peter Hutchinson, Thomas Huber, Johannes Brus, Hamish Fulton and other well-known artists have been realised. The museum also offers guided bike tours and rental bikes.
